PI Financial Corp. announced today the newest addition to its research team, Mr. John Kiernan.
John Kiernan is a mining engineer with over 22 years of mine operations, engineering and financial analysis experience. His engineering experience includes mine design and planning, project implementation and production engineering.
John Kiernan’s most recent position was VP Mining and Mine manager of the MAX ( moly ) mine for Roca Mines. Prior John was: Manager Project Evaluation, for American Gold Capital Corp; Senior Mining Engineer with Wardrop Engineering; Principal Mining Engineer and Financial Analyst, AMEC/MRDI. John has held operating and mining positions with Inco, Strathcona Minerals, Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting, Nanisivik Mines and Campbell Red Lake Mines.
John Kiernan also brings extensive mine analysis and project financial modeling to PI. During his time at AMEC, John completed over 20 project evaluations including: El Sauzal gold project purchased by Glamis from Francisco Gold; the Phoneix gold property purchased by Newmont; Nui Phao tungsten mine in Vietnam; San Nicolas copper zinc property in Mexico.
His educational background includes an Bachelors of Science ( Honours) in Mine Engineering and an MBA.
John Kiernan is a Professional Engineer in BC and Ontario and is a National Member and Past Chairman of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy for the Vancouver branch.
John Kiernan will focus on covering junior mining companies with special emphasis on advanced exploration and junior producers.
