Research


Equity Research Associate, Vancouver office

The Equity Research Associate will be based in Vancouver and report directly to the Research Analysts and Head of Equity Research. The Equity Research Associate is responsible for maintaining financial models, conducting industry and company-specific research, data collection, and client support. Typically the role works with one or more Analysts in the preparation of financial forecasts and opinions of covered companies in the Analyst’s coverage universe used by Institutional and Retail clients and Investment Advisors in making investment decisions.

    Key Tasks & Responsibilities::
  • Search, collect, consolidate, and interpret company and industry data
  • Develop and maintain financial models and create exhibits suitable for publishing and analysis
  • Assist in generating research publications including writing, editing, and final report preparation
  • Communicate and handle both external and internal information requests
  • Meet with management teams of issuers and attend client meetings
  • Provide administrative support as required
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
    Qualifications:
  • Strong accounting, financial modeling, and technical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with market data sets and related Excel add-ins including Bloomberg and Thomson
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Able to perform in a fast paced multi-tasking environment and to meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Self-motivated, hardworking and detail-oriented
  • Available to work extended/flexible hours especially during peak reporting seasons
    Education:
  • An undergraduate degree in business with a focus on accounting and/or finance is preferred.
  • Successful completion of the CFA Level 1 exam at a minimum.

Executive Assistant, Vancouver Office

We are seeking a professional looking to join a high performing Capital Markets team in Vancouver. The individual will report to the Managing Director of Capital Markets.

    Major Responsibilities
  • Provide executive support including typing correspondence and initiating same within area of responsibility, confidentiality, receiving and screening calls, ensuring communication with departments reporting to the MD of Capital Markets
  • Prepare documentation relating to firm’s corporate matters
  • Provide correspondance with MD’s private clients
  • Handle private new account opening documents and update forms
  • Ensure client requests are handled
  • Act as liaison between the MD and operations department for private clients
  • Book air travel, hotels, catering, car rentals, etc. as required
  • Help in planning and executing capital market events
  • Pick up lunch for MD when requested. Perform other duties as required.
  • Desktop Publishing – create and amend brochures, web pages and advertising. Familiarity with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & Dreamweaver
    Knowledge and Skills
  • Post-secondary training in administration/business/computer.
  • Related executive work experience
  • Computer word processing and spreadsheet input and analysis.
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Some experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with office computers, operating systems and general office environment and other equipment.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Account Transfer Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all client account transfers from various entities. The role requires a dynamic, detail-oriented individual who is willing to learn and grow within the organization.

    Responsibilities:
  • Ensure transfers are processed accurately and in a timely fashion;
  • ATON;
  • Manual account transfers;
  • Receipt and Delivery of physical certificates;
  • Front Counter client services;
    Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2 years of relevant experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of CDS, DTC, Dataphile an asset;
  • Knowledge of physical securities;
  • Strong customer service skills;

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Corporate Actions administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Corporate Actions processing. The role requires a dynamic, detail-oriented individual who is willing to learn and grow within the organization.

  • Process Voluntary and Mandatory offers;
  • Name changes;
  • CDS Bulletins
  • Respond to enquiries regarding Corporate Actions;
  • Warrant Exercises;
  • Bond Redemptions;
  • GIC processing;
    Skills & Qualifications:
  • 3 years of relevant experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of CDS, DTC, Dataphile an asset;
  • An understanding of the securities industry, products, corporate actions an asset;
  • Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks concurrently to meet deadlines;
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail;

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Securities Administrator will be responsible for the processing of physical certificates. The role requires a dynamic, detail-oriented individual who is willing to learn and grow within the organization.

    Responsibilities:
  • Receive and deliver physical certificates;
  • Send physical certificates to transfer agents for re-registration and splits;
  • CDS/DTC deposits;
  • File receipts/deliveries;
  • Back up Messenger;
  • Open and distribute incoming mail;
    Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2 years of relevant experience preferred;
  • Good knowledge of physical certificate processing;
  • Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks concurrently to meet deadlines;
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail;
