Originally from Ontario, Derek moved to Vancouver 16 years ago and has fallen in love with the city. He is an outdoors person and a fitness enthusiast, enjoying jogging, cycling, sailing, hiking, and golf.

He is an avid skier, coaching the sport for 5 years, gaining valuable team building skills and an understanding of the value of dedication, focus and attention to detail. Derek is very active in the community, volunteering as a board executive for 6 years with The Vancouver Friends for Life Society, a non-profit wellness organization, in addition to chairing the organizations largest fundraising event, Art for Life Gala Dinner & Fine Art Auction. Derek has recently joined the board of the Dr. Peter's Center, and serves as Chair of fund development for the organization.

As an active investor and business person for most of his life Derek brings a high level of professionalism, integrity, and knowledge to his clients.
