PI Financial Corp. to sponsor alpine ski racer Britt Janyk

VANCOUVER, BC – Wednesday, August 22, 2007 – PI Financial Corp. announced today that it has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Whistler, B.C.’s Britt Janyk, a member of Canada’s alpine ski team. Ms. Janyk achieved two top-four results in last winter’s FIS World Cup, missing the podium by as little as 3/100ths of a second. She also finished fourth in the Super G at the World Championship in Åre, Sweden last February. Janyk is presently ranked 7th in World Cup Super G standings, the top individual world ranking by a Canadian woman.

Max Meier, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of PI Financial Corp., said his firm was excited to support Ms. Janyk, who made spectacular progress in the speed events this past season. She has been a member of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team since 1996 and was traditionally a technical skier but switched to speed events (Downhill & Super G) one year ago. Over the last few years, she has won a total of 11 Canadian Championship titles in five different disciplines.

After a summer of intensive dryland training, Ms. Janyk said she was looking forward to the upcoming speed training camp in Chile. “I am thrilled to have a strong sponsor behind me as I embark on another important season of working towards my goal of reaching the podium in my hometown of Whistler in 2010,” Janyk said.

PI Financial Corp., known as Pacific International Securities Inc. for the past 25 years, changed its name on July 1, 2007. PI is a Vancouver-based, full service investment dealer employing 160 people in its offices in Vancouver, Victoria and Calgary.

PI Financial and its Chairman Max Meier have been supporters of alpine ski racing for the last 15 years. Mr. Meier is the co-founder of the Whistler Cup, an International Juvenile ski event which attracts the best 11 – 14 year-old racers in the world and PI Financial has been a sponsor of that event since its inception in 1993. Mr. Meier is also a past-Chairman of Alpine Canada Alpin and a founding member of the Podium Club, a fundraising initiative of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team.

Ms. Janyk is retaining all of her equipment sponsors from last year, namely Völkl, Marker, Lange, Swix and Uvex.
