Experienced Investment Advisor Overview

 

 

Investment Advisor Assistant, Vancouver office

We are seeking a licensed Investment Advisor (IA) Assistant in our Vancouver office. Drawing from your experience and/or education in the financial services industry you will support the daily administration needs of the IA. You have excellent organizational skills and are self-motivated with a keen “can-do” work ethic and experience trading securities.

    Key Task and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the IA in preparing for client appointments
  • Respond to client inquiries on administrative questions
  • Provide market information or quotes to clients
  • Follow up with prospective clients and clients on active inquiries
  • Communicate effectively with the advisor you work with directly
  • Manage incoming and outbound client phone calls
  • Ensure client accounts are processed accurately including account opening/closing and transfers
  • Communicate with head office associates on compliance and operational matters
  • Process trades and other transactions
  • Maintain a current understanding of the regulatory landscape
    Skills:
  • Career oriented, works well individually and as part of a team
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office
  • Quick learner adept to grasping new technologies and processes
  • Organized, focused and capable of working under tight deadlines
  • Discreet and experienced in handling confidential client information
  • Successful completion if the Canadian Securities Course

  • Keen problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly on your feet
    Qualifications and Experience:
  • 3 years IA assistant experience
  • High school or equivalent
  • IIROC licensed as an Investment Representative or Registered Representative is required
  • Post-secondary education in a finance related discipline an asset

Compliance

Compliance Administrative Assistant, Vancouver office

    Key Responsibilities:
  • New account reviews; review account documents prior to opening, and account updating, for incomplete or inconsistent documents / information.
  • Complete Coding Sheets
  • Interact with Investment Advisors and Operations staff regarding issues arising from account reviews and account opening, or update, process.
  • Coordinate and prepare information production demands (primarily Intergovernmental Securities Group – ISG).
  • Assist Compliance Officers with various daily and monthly Compliance account activity reviews.
  • Periodic account opening policy reviews for Compliance Manager.
  • Organize meeting and conferences for Compliance Department.
  • Attend and advise at Compliance Committee meetings.
  • Set up and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems.
  • Supervise and train office staff in compliance procedures and completion of current account documents.
  • Other duties and general research as required.
    Skills:
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Complete familiarity with Broadridge/Dataphile back office software.
  • Complete familiarity with Position Watch/Execlear/DST Subserveo software.
  • Complete familiarity with investment account opening documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada requirements in relation to account documentation.
  • Ability to ensure day-to-day maintenance of client records.
  • Ability to maintain extremely high levels of confidentiality.
  • Candidate will be required to meet deadlines with complete accountability under limited supervision.
  • Ability to supervise and also to follow direction while working as a member of a team.
  • Mastery of internal Trade Log system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is required.
